It’s Quite Okay to Use the “F” Word

I just don’t understand why anyone is reticent to use the “F” word when describing a Trump toady like J.D. Vance, who is running for the U.S. Senate in Ohio. He’s a freaking FASCIST, folks, and there’s no more accurate descriptor that I can possibly think of. Joe Biden has been using the “F” word lately when talking about these extreme, rabid Republican reactionaries, and it’s about time.

Those that think that labeling Trump zombie cult lemmings “fascist” is overreacting or extreme need to read a few books, study some history and learn a little from a few people who have lived in a fascist regime. With that as background, and a good hard look at the behavior, rhetoric and policy positions of someone like the reprehensibly vapid and fecklessly zany Vance, anyone with a functioning brain and not a fascist themself will unquestionably get a rude awakening and likely a feverish chill.

A good start would be to read Madeleine Albright’s excellent book: “Fascism: A Warning.” If that book doesn’t get you riled up, you’re not paying attention to or understanding at all what’s currently happening to us in America.

Another frightening read to get perspective on the MAGA maniacs plotting to seize control of our government is “How Fascism Works -The Politics of Us and Them” by Jason Stanley. The author explains in painstaking detail the commonalities of fascist regimes in history. Published in 2018 at the height of the Trump presidential disaster, “No single book is as relevant to the present moment.” (Claudia Rankine, author of CITIZEN)

The playbook for fascism is actually quite easy to identify and is predictable as hell, it turns out, and it becomes abundantly clear as you read books like these that we are living through the hideously malevolent intricacies of that playbook right now.

Vance and the rest of the Trumpist sycophants are angling to create an authoritarian, white Christian, racist, hate-filled, misogynist oligarchy with militarized police and a one way economy driving wealth to the top. And once established, that regime won’t be going away any time soon. You’ve heard of the “1000-Year Reich,“ right?

Their plan is to have one totalitarian party and one strongman autocrat in charge, making the rule of law a joke, elections a farce and embracing political violence like we saw on January 6, 2021 as the norm. And, yes, the free press as we know it will become a thing of the past. If you like the Faux News approach to state run media, you’ll just love it when the pure authoritarians take over and the only information available will be the information they want you to have.

And if you disagree with any of this, you will quickly become a TARGET.

If Republicans capture Congress next week and then the Presidency in a couple of years with Trump or someone equally or more deranged like Ron DeSantis of Florida, that’s exactly where we will be heading…down the path to a violently anti-democratic, despotic regime. You can kiss democracy goodbye in the good old US of A.

So, if anyone disses you for being panicky or alarmist for using the “F” word to characterize the MAGA grifters, BS artists, criminals and power mad loonies, they just haven’t done their homework, are complicit and are part of the problem. Or, they are just a complete idiot.

It’s okay to freak out about this. It really is.
